School Council

The Capilano School Council is an organization made up of parents and guardians of students attending Capilano School. Membership is open to all such parents and guardians. Capilano School has had wonderful School Councils over the years who have brought whole new dimensions to our program.

The main function of the parent group is to support the programs offered at school. We rely very heavily on the School Council to provide feedback and parental perspective on school issues, as well as support for school activities and initiatives.

The parent group meets eight times per year, usually on the second-last Monday of the month at 7:00 p.m. Meetings last no more than two hours. Policy and planning for the group are established at these meetings. Committee work is strictly on a voluntary basis and amounts to no more than a few hours a month. Notification of Council meetings will appear in the monthly newsletters.
